Biography
Owned and operated by Linda Carr, Linda's Carraoke
has been in business since 1998.
Ms. Carr, an experienced vocalist and musician,
began her career in music singing and
playing keyboards in her first professional band at
age 19. Travelling around the southeast, she
performed for a variety of shows including private
parties, weddings, festivals and clubs. Linda has
entertained for such events as: Mardi Gras in Mobile,
Alabama, The SC Peach Festival, and the Governor
of Alabama. After 10 years of performing with this band,
she played with two other groups; the later of which
led to two overseas military MWR tours of Japan,
Korea, Guam, Hawaii, Johnson Atoll, Turkey, Italy and Spain.
Upon her return home from these trips, Ms. Carr
began her karaoke business in Columbia, South Carolina,
performing 6 nights a week. She built up a very successful
business and earned a position at a local theme park,
Paramount Carowinds, as a Karaoke Hostess.
In 2000, Ms. Carr relocated to Hanau, Germany where she
began working for the MWR military club circuit providing
karaoke and dj services to the soldiers in Hanau at the
International Club, one of the largest and most expensive
military clubs in the area - with a capacity of 400 people,
which she managed to fill every night; the Flood Zone, the
Black Hawk Club in Budingen, The Oasis, and to the soldiers
and civillians at the Woodland Club in Giessen. In February
of 2003, Ms. Williams relocated to Wuerzburg, Germany.
She still performed in Hanau, but also began performing for
the Cantigny Club in Wuerzburg, the Woodland Inn in
Kitzingen, and the Red Baron Club in Giebelstadt.
Throughout her time in Germany, Ms. Williams had a
huge karaoke following and a very successful business!
In August 2004, Ms. Carr relocated to the El Paso, TX
area and performed for the NCO Club on Ft. Bliss and The
Country Corner in El Paso. She also performed for several
private & military functions around the area.
After a year in El Paso, Ms. Carr moved back to Columbia, SC
where she performed throughout the area at several locations
including: Icy's Sports Bistro, Trackside Tavern, Bailey's Sports Grill,
Bey's Sports Bar, Plum's Lounge, Garrett's Grill & Barr, D's Wings,
Taps Bar, Out of Bounds, WG's Wings, Rookie's Bar, Shooter's in
Camden, The Rusty Anchor, Gadget's in Lugoff, Rebound in Elgin,
Darryl's on Percival Road, Uncle Festers, and The Brew & Cue
in Camden.
In June, 2007, Ms. Carr organized an all-day Fundraiser called,
"Karaoke Fest", which was held at Icy's Sports Bistro. This event raised
money for the American Cancer Society and Camp Kemo.
Ms. Carr has also played for private functions at such venues as: Reflections in Lexington, Wintergreen Woods, Lexington, SC; Riverbanks Zoo Botanical Gardens; Wildwood Country Club; Clarion Hotel Downtown; Newberry Opera House, Newberry, SC; Ft. Jackson NCO & Officer Clubs; Shaw AFB, Sumter, SC; Saluda Shoals, Lexington, SC; The Mitchell House, Lexington, SC; Yacht Cove, Irmo, SC; 1011 Galleria, Camden, SC; Jazmine House & Gardens in Irmo, O'Donnell House in Sumter, Jamil Shrine Temple in Columbia, and Proctor Hall, Camden, SC.
Linda is currently performing at Uncle Festers on Tuesdays, Blue Fin Seafood Restaurant & Bar in the Village at Sandhills on Thursdays and Saturdays, Magruders on Ft . Jackson every other Friday, Thunder Tower Harley-Davidson every other Saturday, and Friends Club on Wednesdays and every other Friday. We also do occasional events for Applebee's on Two Notch Rd.
